About us

David L. Smith has over 30 years of experience in the surveying field. He became licensed in 1993 by the State of Florida and established David L. Smith Surveying & Mapping, Inc. in 1998.

In 1999 we purchased Mandish & Associates, in 2001 acquirred Murray & Associates in 2011 acquired Michael Baker & Associates and in 2012 we acquired Goodman & Associates for a combined 100 years of records.

Our Office Manager, Margo Brown, over 20 years in the survey industry. She has been with David L. Smith Surveying and Mapping since 2001 and prior to that worked for Fla Surveyors and Florida Benchmark.

Joseph Hanlon has been in the surveying field since 1964. Joseph is our specialist on Wet Zone Surveys. Joseph is very proficient with all aspects of the survey world.

J. Michael Fuqua has over 37 years of experience in the surveying field. In 1978 Michael was licensed by the State of Tennessee and in 1985 he became licensed by the State of Florida.

Surveying, or land surveying is the technique, profession, and science of determining the terrestrial or three-dimensional positions of points and the distances and angles between them. A land surveying professional is called a land surveyor.

These points are usually on the surface of the Earth, and they are often used to establish maps and boundaries for ownership, locations, such as building corners or the surface location of subsurface features, or other purposes required by government or civil law, such as property sales.
